The Scoular Company is a century-old, employee-owned agribusiness company located across North America, shipping goods around the globe. Scoular serves customers in growing markets in food, feed, and renewable fuel by transporting and managing logistics, storing, buying and selling, and managing risk related to price, quality, transportation or other market factors.
On June 12, 2008, The Scoular Company purchased the assets of Hancock Elevator, Inc. which was founded in Hancock, Iowa in 1985 and served producers in more than six southwest Iowa counties. The acquisition included 14 Iowa grain-handling facilities located in Avoca, Elk Horn, Emerson, Elliott, Griswold, Hancock, Harlan, Hastings, Neola, Oakland, Persia, Portsmouth, Shelby, and Walnut. The acquired truck and rail locations are part of Scoular’s growing North American corn and soybean origination network.
Scoular's operation of Hancock Elevator's former facilities brought a more direct level of market opportunity to area producers. Scoular and Hancock Elevator, Inc. had worked together for decades prior to the acquisition, and Scoular continues to be committed to maintaining the high level of personal service previously established by Hancock Elevator, Inc.
The Scoular Company is a privately-held, century-old agribusiness company committed to buying, selling, storing, handling and transporting grain and other agricultural products for use in food, feed and renewable fuel markets worldwide.
